Earth / Sea: The 'Litoral' Edge

The lines found in the Orpheus Fountain figure drawings suggest the movement of water and resemble the edges of seashells. One series of drawings explores the edges of the seashells though the creation of a living line. Soon, the line became a coastline requiring a blue to balance the white. The lyrical freedom of movement requires a defining shore. It is evident the artist takes much pleasure in these Fountain and Shell drawings and that they deepen her sensitivity to the way lines can articulate and contain exquisite natural forms.
