Greek Pictures: Shadows of a Magnitude

Travels in Greece confirmed a change of direction away from the screen printing process toward the hand drawing of larger works. At first the artist’s concept was to catch the tension between the enclosure of spaces and the aura of divinity. Columns and lintel, the simplest devices for structuring space, encode promise, possibility, and the sacred, within what is essentially an enclosed and symbolic space. These monumental forms still speak of power, wonder, degrees of spirituality, and they echo the past even as they inspire us in the present day. Her interest is in delimiting the historical aura, while at the same time studying the strength and intelligence in the forms that remain. Though time has exacted its tax, these images project an ancient and yet timeless force.
